direct quote

Today is my one day off after working the weekend and I go back to work for the next couple days.  I spent today almost entirely on my save the dates.  I had to drive out to New Jersey to drop something off at the printers, then on my way back I stopped at one of the most amazing stores ever, The Paper Source.  I then addressed and stamped our return address on 100+ envelopes.  So it's been quite the day.  This wedding planning sure does take time.   I can't wait to get the save the dates back from the printers!  It's been quite a journey.  I'll share the details with you once they've been mailed and received by our guests.  Here's a little glimpse to tide you over.

I'm telling you all of this because I just realized I didn't post today and had no plans on posting today or anytime in the near future for that matter.  And that brings me here, remembering to post.   A post that will be strange, unique and filled with random thoughts.

I'm starting to get annoyed with the number of weekends I work (can you tell?).  Every other weekend really stinks because I have to choose between friends and family quite frequently.  Plus, when I get invitations for parties and events it usually comes after my schedule is out or past the time I can enter a request to have a certain weekend off.   I met up with a few friends on Saturday night after work (in my scrubs of course), but had to leave to go home when they all went out to party because I had to work at 7am the next morning.  It didn't help that fiance went out partying at came to bed early in the morning, or fell asleep on the couch with the TV and lights on.  I also am already all booked up for most of the next few months.

Last week I went to J.Crew to exchange something.  I live four blocks from the store and it's not good for my wallet.  Direct quote from a text message fiance sent me two days ago:
"i'm afraid for you to look at the new j.crew mag"

He knows me too well.  Here are some of the items that I contemplated while in the store last week.  Can you guess which ones I bought and which I'm still lusting over?

Hopefully I'll get some more posts up this week, but I'm going away this weekend for friends' bachelorette party so it might be a bit sparse around here on hssh.
