happy fourth!

I hope you all had a very Happy Fourth of July!  I know I'm a bit late in saying this.  We went up to the rooftop of our building for a quiet fourth celebration after a nice little dinner at an Italian place nearby.  Of course Italian isn't quite the most American food but fiance and I were itching for the eyee-taylian.  Plus it was perfect, because we found one of my new favorite white wines.  I wish I could tell you the name, but I don't often remember things like that.  All I know is it was from Sonoma.

Our building doesn't generally let us on the rooftop.  Not quite sure why they don't maximize that potential for a charming spot in manhattan, but whatever.  We had delish glasses of tawn port after dinner and took them upstairs to watch the firework displays.  The view of the fireworks was great.

We once attempted to go up on the roof but set off the alarm.  woops!  I have to say although NYC puts off six identical firework displays on the Hudson (this year, I think they rotate between the west and east sides), I am still a firm believer that the Nation's Capitol has by far the best fireworks.

I'm definitely enjoying Manhattan.  It's a little hard at times.  I miss my car, condo, and most of all family and friends.  I do, however get to spend a lot of time with my friends up here and let's not forget fiance!  I have definitely felt the Manhattan attitude though.  Don't get me wrong: there are plenty of wonderful people in this city.  But at the same time, there is a lot of attitude, egoism, and straight out bitchiness that is completely unnecessary.
