chili

It's been in the 20s-40s the past few weeks here in DC and I'm starting to get sick of it.  Luckily, I'm going to Hawaii in a week, so I can at least get away from it for a bit.   I went to the grocery store today and was inspired to make chili.  So I put on the new Darius Rucker album and went to it.  This is another case in my life where I probably should have used a recipe, but it turned out just fine without.

I've been on a bit of a health kick recently,  maybe due to the fact that I'll be in my bathing suit for the new year?  This being said, I decided to make the chili with turkey and chicken meat (thanks to my aunt for the idea).   Here's my "recipe"
Brown the meat
Dice up some onions.

Add onions, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper to taste.  let this cook covered for a bit.

Add diced tomatoes and some of their juices.  Add one can plus some of tomato paste
 plus more chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper to taste

Beans of your choice

Allow it to stew a little bit and you're done!

 Now I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all of this chili, but I can guarantee my vacuum packer will be coming out soon.  Next I want to conquer my all time favorite, french onion soup.  But I will definitely be using a recipe for that!
