Living Room

The living room is the first room when you walk in the door.  I got a old family sideboard to use as my TV console of sorts and still have my old small box tv on it, but plan eventually to get a nice big TV.  I didn't have a couch and decided to purchase a new one.  I went back and forth through various options: sectional, love sofa and couch, love sofa couch and chair, chair and couch, two love sofas....possibilities are endless.  Ideally I like the southern shabby chic look (just walk into the store random harvest) and that of pottery barn.  But instead of picking out a few clashing/coordinating pieces, which I will most definitely do when I have more money and a bigger space to work with,  I went with a sectional.  I am very happy with the leather couch.

The back wall of the living room is one big window.  It's about 12 feet long.  I tried finding extra wide curtains and the best ones I found were from Pottery Barn, which they just so happened to have the color I wanted (green) in the size (104"x96") and type (silk duponi drapes) for 50% off!  I almost had a heart attack.  The curtain rods are from Target, and the curtains really do a great job in the room.

I'm waiting to find a rug that is fit to my budget and style.  I found a coffee table of sorts in my grandmother's attic-  I think it's the box from an old toy train set.

(as you can tell, the sun comes right into my windows at certain times of day, which is wonderful but is making the curtains look a little funny in these pictures)
